Património Mundial da UNESCO, Hoi An é uma cidade cheia de charme, que acumula séculos de história, de estilos, de culturas e de influências, nomeadamente, da China, Japão, Tailândia e Filipinas.
Tendo sido um importante porto comercial da Ásia nos séculos XV e XIX, hoje é uma cidade tranquila e muito bem preservada, com muito para ver e visitar. No centro histórico, aliás, só é permitido circular a pé ou de bicicleta, o que é um descanso para todos os que por ali passeiam.
E começa, desde logo, com a Ponte Coberta japonesa com 400 anos, que tem acoplado um pequeno templo decorado com estátuas de cães e macacos que protegem e guardam a ponte.
No Museu de Cerâmica Comercial, uma indústria em tempos muito importante para a cidade, pode conhecer a história desta arte. Além do conteúdo, muito interessante, só o museu - situado numa elegante casa de madeira em estilo vietnamita, construída em 1858 – vale a visita.
Com 200 anos, a Casa Tan Ky, é um exemplo do património arquitetónico da cidade e uma referência de preservação tanto do seu exterior, como interiores – madeiras, obras de arte, móveis. Uma delícia para quem gosta de viajar no tempo e ver como outras gerações viviam!
Mas há mais para ver, como o templo Quan Cong, construído em 1653 por colonos chineses para adorar Guan Yu, um antigo general chinês cujo caráter representa lealdade, bravura e justiça. Uma excelente referência da influência chinesa na cidade. Um local para visitar e admirar!
Num registo diferente, o Mercado local merece também a visita para conhecer as cores, sabores e aromas daquela área, sem esquecer os souvenirs e peças de artesanato a que é difícil resistir.
Sendo uma cidade portuária, pode ainda aproveitar a sua viagem para um cruzeiro panorâmico no rio Thu Bom, uma variante sempre agradável para conhecer os arredores e paisagens da região. É lindo!
