É um refúgio de paz e tranquilidade, dentro de um ambiente naturalmente selvagem e belo. É, por isso, um lugar privilegiado para observar os animais e toda a vida selvagem, não só a que pode ver da sua janela, mas toda a diversidade que um safari junto ao rio lhe proporciona.
Aqui, aliás, pode ter a experiência única e rara de fazer um safari na savana e no rio, vendo de perto – ao vivo e a cores - as diferenças entre cada um destes ecossistemas.
E se gosta de elefantes, saiba que é, também, aqui que se encontra a maior concentração de elefantes de África! Estima-se que mais de 50.000 elefantes vivam nesta região, tornando-a num verdadeiro santuário para esta espécie. Vê-los no seu habitat é maravilhoso. E isso é comum especialmente durante a estação seca, quando os elefantes e os búfalos se juntam nas planícies inundadas para beber água e descansar.
Mas outros animais podem ser vistos, além destes. Leões, girafas, hipopótamos, crocodilos, antílopes e mil e uma aves são apenas alguns deles. Entre as aves, destacam-se a águia-pescadora-africana, os colhereiros e os martins-pescadores, que tornam o Chobe num paraíso para observadores de aves.
Um local maravilhosamente inesquecível onde quatro países – Botsuana, Namíbia, Zâmbia e Zimbabué – se encontram! Aliás, este ponto de encontro é conhecido como a única junção quadrifronteiriça do mundo, onde os quatro países se tocam num mesmo ponto geográfico.
